“And all the roads we have to walk are winding. And all the lights that lead us there are blinding.”
In my youth, hearing this song I was all about the “I said maybe, you’re gonna be the one that saves me” lyric. As life has progressed and I have “matured” I realize no one can save you until you are ready to save yourself but that’s doesn’t mean you won’t want or even need someone by your side to help you do that, so if you are lucky enough to find your “Wonderwall” the winding and blinding roads won’t feel so overwhelming.
On a side note, a very interesting thing happened during tonight’s dance that I want to share. Our 4-year-old Akita Kenji is always with us when we dance and do our writeups. Most days he just lays down and lets us do our thing, once or twice he has required some pets and love before he lays down but tonight he actually was part of the dance. He sat down right next to us and did not leave our side until we were done. It’s like he knows that we saved him (he’s a rescue) so he could help save me. Being home alone and sick all the time is not easy and for me the burden is lightened when I have something to focus my energy on and having him gives me something to focus on.
Larry’s Perspective:
Know the song. Know the band. Sorry the brothers can't get along, but hey, that's family for you.
No real thoughts around it...waiting for Shannon's perspective...
