Our Perspective / Pick: Kids
FULL DISCLOSURE: The video is extremely bizarre and is guaranteed to trigger someone. But don't let that deter you from listening to the song.
We have been struggling to come up with exactly how this song entered our lives and we don't know exactly when or why it did but it did and much like the other night's Hell Bent by Kenna, this song takes us back to a specific time in life. The time when we lived in Pickerington and Gabriel was really starting to hone in on his creative side and figure out what that may mean for him later in life.
Gabriel has always been creative. As a small child he did not want coloring books but rather blank paper and crayons so he could imagine the things he wanted to draw and color not just color premade images. As parents we encouraged his creativity and tried to find as many outlets for it that we could. He took Saturday morning art classes at CCAD and eventually went there for college. He would ask for software to help him with animation and stop motion on his computer and we would try to oblige his requests for birthdays and Christmas gifts. Some of the things he tried stuck around but a lot of it fell to the wayside over the years. That is what it's like with a creative/ADHD individual. There are so many possibilities in the world and they want to try so many of them. When we hear this song now it just takes us back to that time in life.
P.S. So, I (Shannon) must admit I never watched this video until tonight and I now have a little better understanding of how this would have been something that would have been right up Gabriel's alley.
