Say what you will about Elvis but I will always have a soft spot for him. My brother Shane and both of my grandma’s (Rhodes and DeBolt) loved Elvis so listening to him always brings back memories of them. But this song, this one is all about Larry. Sometimes the beauty is in the simplicity.

Ahhhh.....Elvis. To be honest, I love his "cameos" best - Forrest Gump, Blade Runner 2049, "Without Me" by Eminem
"Though I'm not the first king of controversy

To do Black music so selfishly
And use it to get myself wealthy (Hey)"
...and of course Val Kilmer's character dubbed "mentor" in True Romance.
If anyone was an Elvis fan in my family, I'm not really aware of it - so he didn't get a lot of airplay while I was growing up.
But there's no denying his place in the fabric of music history, regardless of the fact he pretty much did not write any of the songs he sang.
Shannon is right - not a lot of words to this song, but for those in the world who get to live it, it's pretty much perfect.
