If you happened to be alive in 1993 there was no way you could escape this song. It was everywhere all the time. Good for me, I love Meatloaf. Mostly I loved the video and the part of the song when the female was singing. At that time in my life, I felt like I could relate to what she was saying/asking in the song and the above lyrics really stood out for me.
After 30 plus years I can say without a doubt that being with Larry has colorized my life in ways I could have never imagined for myself in 1993.
P.S. Also after 30 plus years Larry and I still debate exactly what he won’t do for love.
It's kind of fitting that this project is somewhat bookended by Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman. Paradise By the Dashboard Light back in April and this song now. This song was released late summer of 1993, so during the time Shannon and I were dating.
To say this was everywhere is an understatement as this song went number one in 28 countries. This is another masterful example of what can happen when Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf collaborate.
This is probably one of the very few songs in my entire life that I loved every time I heard it on QFM96 when it played at least once an hour for months on end - along with every other radio station.
