Larry’s Pick: I Love the Night

Picture this: I'm barely 23 year old, my girlfriend calls me to tell me she's pregnant, I ask if she's sure she called the right number, I making absolutely shit money and I have to plan a wedding in 60 days.

So what's the plan? We nail down a church, nail down mandatory marriage counseling (because someone let slip to the Pastor "we're pregnant"), beg a friend to get her chef husband to help cater, reluctantly agree that my best friend / best man can DJ with his oversize shelf sound system and probably a few other half-ass but what-the-hell-else-can-we-do-because-we're-broke decisions.

So the ceremony ends and we head into the church annex where the reception was being held (because again - no money). It wasn't all that big of an area, so not a lot of room for dancing. And if I recall correctly, we didn't have a lot of time for the reception either. 

Between mingling with everyone, eating and opening gifts we had the chance to dance to one song. Period. And this was that song. 

I Love the Night by Blue Oyster Cult.

So yeah, I've always had a special memory of rocking out to Blue Oyster Cult in the Stonybrook Church annex.
