When I decided that this song needed to be part of the project, I struggled with the theme - because it very easily could have fallen under "Release The Sarcasm!"
I may have used this quote once or twice over the course of my relationship with Shannon:
"One difference between you and I - Your heart is inside your head"
But in all seriousness, I think your timeframe of reference for this song should be immediately after losing your first love. Not your first relationship - the actual person you consider your first love. When that ends, those are some shitty, shitty times. At that moment, your world is crashing down - especially if you're not the one who initiated "The End".
