I believe no matter what happens today this will be a November 5th to be remembered.
Hand to heart - I had this song picked out for election day because of its original intent when the album was released in 2004, not because of any additional controversy this song or band created since.
Though if you're part of the group whose feelings were hurt back on 12/31/2023, all that I can do is wish you and Wish Them Well. Green Day are, after all, a punk band.
This receives my esteemed award of "Perfect Album". It was perfect in 2004 and it's perfect twenty years later in 2024.
Today, trust me, I'm not going to be an American Idiot.

P.S. I'm also a huge fan of the movie V for Vendetta which draws inspiration from Guy Fawkes and the holiday celebrated every year on November 5th.
I believe most Americans simply just looked at the calendar and noted to themselves that election day in 2024 was November 5th.
Not this guy, who I believe, and I quote, laughed and said "Holy shit! Election day is on the 5th of November. Remember, Remember the 5th of November..."
