Gotta be honest I don’t really remember when this song came into our lives or how but I do know why Connor loved this song! I can still hear him singing…right about now, the funk soul brother, check it out now, the funk soul brother. I would be remiss if I didn’t at least explain that one of the things I loved about listening to Connor sing when he was little was the fact that he had a lisp and had some trouble with his R’s, W’s and L’s. All of that just added to the list of his enduring qualities.

So after Connor and Kristen read this entry on 9/27/24, they very gently reminded us old people that, duh, this was on Digimon: The Movie soundtrack that came out on October 6th, 2000. You may recall we covered (or will cover) the following songs, which were also on that same soundtrack - you know like The Impression That I Get (The Mighty Mighty Bosstones) (3/13/24) and Kids in America (Len) (11/11/24).
Also on the soundtrack that didn't make the cut yet: One Week (Barenaked Ladies); All Star (Smash Mouth); All My Best Friends Are Metalheads (Less Than Jake).
Connor also shared this soundtrack is what introduced him to Ska, which, and I'm quoting him "is one of the best genres of music".
The fact that he made that statement proves we did something right in passing our love of music along...
