Act a Fool (Ludacris)

Shannon’s Pick: Act a Fool

“With my pedal to the floor, radar in the grille
TV in the middle of my steering wheel”

Much like the Bodies write up from last night this song takes me back to that same time period driving those back roads from Lancaster to anywhere. But it also takes me to when Connor was a little older (Jr. High/High School age) and we were listening to some songs that we used to listen to on those drives, this was one of them. The difference is he was no longer 8 and was actually paying attention to the lyrics and much like his Piston Cup moment he understood the bigger picture of what was being said. He kinda looked at me and was like you guys really let me listen to this and sing along with it? Then he just laughed, because of course we not only let him listen to it but we encouraged him to sing along.

Larry’s Perspective:

Full Disclosure: I love the Fast and Furious movies. Ever since the first one came out, I was hooked. Besides the car culture, the cast was diverse and the soundtracks were always fantastic. This movie pulled me in because it featured the R34 Skyline GT-R which is a holy grail Japanese car. They did finally bring the R35 to the states and it's nothing to sneeze at - but it isn't the R34. It also had the EVO VII (which when EVO's finally came to the states I owned two different EVO VIII's). I could afford those, but not the R35.

Anyway, Shannon and I can vividly remember Connor singing along to this song as well, not having a clue what the hell any of it meant.

As we were talking tonight, we also remembered another of his favorite lines and more importantly the way he sang it:

"Cause my folk ridin' shotgun with a shotgun"
