Distraction (Angels & Airwaves)

Shannon’s Perspective:

“There's a field nearby with words written in stone
My love will not die, please let it be known”

I did not know what I was going to write about until I read Larry’s write up. He is my distraction and that is bittersweet for me. I am lucky to have him and I appreciate all the sacrifices he makes. I just hope it doesn’t burn him out. Whenever I mention this to him, I am reminded that if the roles were reversed, I would do the same for him, and I would. It doesn’t stop me from worrying about what all of this is doing to him, though.

Larry’s Pick: Distraction

This is just an original "Perfect For The Moment" song. Disclaimer: Shannon and I listened and held each other to this song last night. After dancing to my daily mystery song the playlist just goes right to the next nights song and it just felt right to continue the moment. Thus cementing this song into the theme.

I'm taking some metaphorical liberties with the lyrics, equating the planes and bombs and destruction to Shannon's Small Fiber Neuropathy. It came in and is eroding her quality of life daily and destroying her soul.

To finish the next two lines after Shannon's quote:

"This place is dead, it echoes through town
There isn't one voice I haven't heard a sound"

This just resonates with me because it's been almost four years Shannon has been home, mostly alone.

So as long as I have breath, I will be her distraction - for better or for worse...
